Holiday Sparkle Mini Kit

A touch of sparkle makes everything seem more festive! Here’s my SNL scrapbooking mini kit with some sparkle on the deeper side of holiday elegance. Yes, it includes the Fantasy Flower I did a couple weeks ago.

There’s one of the red backgrounds I’m particularly fond of, you can’t see much of it in the preview of everything, so let me get you a better image:

Bethlehem Star Set for Christmas

Rich blue and gold make the base of this night-time scene for the “Journey to Bethlehem” set of Christmas graphics. It depicts the Three Wise Men following the star to Bethlehem.

I’ve just finished a set of 8 screens in both SD (1024 x 768) and HD (1920 x 1024) for projection in church services. They’ll be available at the store at ChurchMedia.Net individually and in specially discounted packaged sets.

I wanted to make them usable for church, but unique enough to look hand made, artistic, and capture just a bit of the awe that surrounds the Christmas Season.

There’s three additional titles included in the complete set – Follow the Star, Wise Men Still Seek Him, and something for the less traditional: The Star Trek

Painted Flower Fantasy

Well, guess who is painting flowers again?  Yes – this is the latest in my Photoshop Painted Flowers Technique. I used a little bit of bling for the center, and took my inspiration from an old botanical print. This took about 7 hours, layer upon layer, petal upon petal. Of course, I think it’d have gone faster if I hadn’t been sick with a cold. I felt like I was moving in s-l-o-w__m-o-t-i-o-n yesterday.

Before you ask – no, I don’t have a tutorial for this. I’m not quite sure if there’s a cut and dried method for doing a tutorial on it, but I will keep it in mind.

Remember When Background Extras and Patterns

I always have extra patterns left over, and I’m playing with the idea of giving them out with the extras each month for SNL.

PLUS, these backgrounds were some of my favorites. But I’d already submitted the main Remember When kit.

Remember When ... ?

"Remember When?" is what I decided to call this kit after the History Muse bit me and I started to work on some scrapbook elements and backgrounds to go with old antique family photos in SNL's colors this month.

I spent many hours in September and October, pouring over boxes of old photos from my Mom’s garage. Some were hers, some were my grandmother’s, some were my great-grandmother’s, and some belonged to my great-Uncle.

They were a good deal of the inspiration for this kit, and the additional set of backgrounds that coordinate with it.

Of interest: the font for the title and date is called American Scribe from Three Islands Press it seemed like an appropriate one for this project. It’s a font that is based on the handwriting of Timothy Matlack, the clerk who penned the Declaration of Independence.

The Forgotten Garden

Once upon a time there was a beautiful little garden. But one day, no one showed up to care for it. Nor the next day, nor the next.

It was abandoned, yet blooming. It was forgotten, but never lost. Its barely visible paths were poignant, melancholy, shabby, and now it waits for your care, your touch...to bring it back to life...

(These are some of my favorite parts of my SNL contributions for June.)

Summer Cover - Work in Progress

Here's part two of the Summer Flower Cover I have been working at. I’ve just submitted this as a draft idea for the summer cover design for the Sunday Programs at church. Stunning Lily from a stock photo by Claudia Meyer, then painted over. (I just can't leave perfection alone, I always have to mess it up....) Pretty fantasy brushes from Graphic Identity.

May Flowers

Preview element from my SNL kit for May.

Unfinished Summer Cover Draft

This is a first concept draft for the summer program covers. I’m not sure what direction I’ll be going or if it will even make it.

Summer Camp Promo Screen

Here’s a real quick promo screen and print ad for the upcoming summer youth camps for church from their ‘reverb’ grayscale (bare) speaker graphic.

Alpha Sparkle

It's a sparkley set of letters and numbers designed to match the Indigo Dreams kit. Sparkled with Photoshop.

Wintry Blues

Our SNL set of colors in December were a lovely set of blues, indigo, and green. I worked on a paisley-petaled flower for the centerpiece, and variations on a fantasy-winter-crystal look to go with it.

Media Theme Image

This is the base theme image for Pastor Keith's newest series of Sermons, "Life Without Limits." It's for the center screen, so it's essentially double wide.
