Guess who is working on a sequel to Glistening Evening?  Hmmm, there might just be a Glistening Valentine in someone’s future. Check out that diamond-studded little corner.

 

The flower petals are part of a Moonstone technique I was working out this week. Oh, and I got SO carried away adding golden string to the little knotted element, too.

Sustaining Pastoral Excellence - New Web Site

Now showing for it’s dress rehearsal in the next 24 hours, it’s a special web site for a community event we’re hosting at church.  Pastor Jack Hayford is coming to Fresno on March 31^st to speak to the pastors and leaders in the Central Valley for the Sustaining Pastoral Excellence Forum.

 

So I threw together a special event web site, based on WordPress. I want to give some heavy props to David Fleming of Edge Technology Consulting ( http://www.avdude.com ) for a WordPress Plugin that made taking registrations and selling tickets for this huge event a SNAP!

 

It’s called, no surprise, Event Registration Plugin. The installation was a snap. Using it was intuitive. I didn’t run out of the room screaming, and I didn’t have to keep referring back to 21 pages of instructions. The PayPal integration just flat out worked.

 

All I can say is if you need a quick website for an event, the combination of WordPress and the Event Registration Plugin will get you up and going in one evening.

 

The picture above is what the web site design looks like, it is based on the old standby, Fluid Blue, WordPress theme. It’ll be live on Wednesday, and is just in time; there’s a 750 piece mailing to churches in the area with information about the Forum – tomorrow!

Glistening Evening Debut

Blog-watchers will recognize some of the pieces of the newest Digital Scrapbooking kit I just finished - I took the mini kit I had worked on in November, re-worked it into a full blown 300 dpi monster kit, and called it Glistening Evening.

With help and inspiration from some of my favorite scrappers and designers, I finally finished it!

New Gig Designing

TJ Muse over at NuthouseScraps.com invited me to come over to the shop she's re-organizing and sell some of my scrapping designs there.

She didn't expect me to quit my day job to keep up with a little bit of digi-creations, and so I took her up on it.


So, I've got three kits in the store now! I'm especially fond of the little mini kit made with the same colors that the other designers use, so there's a whole slew of mix-n-match kits you can pick from.

The colors were soft pinks, peaches and a pretty green, and it practically made itself! It was really a great deal of fun. DI even did a page of my GRAND SON with it, just to prove that these lovely soft colors were not the sole domain of girlishness!

Holiday Sparkle Mini Kit

A touch of sparkle makes everything seem more festive! Here’s my SNL scrapbooking mini kit with some sparkle on the deeper side of holiday elegance. Yes, it includes the Fantasy Flower I did a couple weeks ago.

There’s one of the red backgrounds I’m particularly fond of, you can’t see much of it in the preview of everything, so let me get you a better image:

Bethlehem Star Set for Christmas

Rich blue and gold make the base of this night-time scene for the “Journey to Bethlehem” set of Christmas graphics. It depicts the Three Wise Men following the star to Bethlehem.

 

I’ve just finished a set of 8 screens in both SD (1024 x 768) and HD (1920 x 1024) for projection in church services. They’ll be available at the store at ChurchMedia.Net individually and in specially discounted packaged sets.

 

I wanted to make them usable for church, but unique enough to look hand made, artistic, and capture just a bit of the awe that surrounds the Christmas Season.

 

There’s three additional titles included in the complete set – Follow the Star, Wise Men Still Seek Him, and something for the less traditional: The Star Trek

 

Painted Flower Fantasy

Well, guess who is painting flowers again?  Yes – this is the latest in my Photoshop Painted Flowers Technique. I used a little bit of bling for the center, and took my inspiration from an old botanical print. This took about 7 hours, layer upon layer, petal upon petal. Of course, I think it’d have gone faster if I hadn’t been sick with a cold. I felt like I was moving in s-l-o-w__m-o-t-i-o-n yesterday.

 

Before you ask – no, I don’t have a tutorial for this. I’m not quite sure if there’s a cut and dried method for doing a tutorial on it, but I will keep it in mind.
