Logo and a Pattern from it!

My friend Sandy is a photographer. She needed a logo for her photography business and I was honored when she asked me to do it.

The concept ... take the name of her company, JSJ Images, and turn it into a fleur d'lis.

So I played, and tweaked, until we found the perfect set of opposing J's that sandwich the wrapped S. Here's a close up of the finished logo:

And then I made a pattern from her logo for the back of her business cards. It turned out ever so cute! Now I think I need to make one for the back of my business cards, too. :)

Official Digi-scrapping Blog is now OPEN

And you'll find it at:

http://digscrappingwithdebbers.blogspot.com/

I just need to have  a single identity for it  :)

I'm Never Tired of Patterned Prints

I love working with prints until I have a pattern that's just perfect. And I never seem to get tired of it! With the encouragement of some dear friends, I've been making some of these labors of love available as commercial use digital scrapbooking designs in my little shop at NutHouse-Scraps.

I called this new set of patterned overlays Blossom Prints because they are all based on floral designs. I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I do.

They're a black design on a transparent ground for maximum usability. But write me if you have any questions about using them as a designer resource.

Rachael Hudnall used them in her new gorgeous Sweet Summer collection, including a wonderful free quickpage:

Swirling Prints for Commercial Use

It's the Summer of Prints for me - and I do love making them! Many thanks to my designing friend, Manu, I made some pretty swirling prints this week and got them into the shop in time for Sunday's sale at the NutHouse!

There are six deliciously swirling prints in full-size scrapbooking pages, ready to be used or abused as overlays, underlays, or other creative way. But I've also included the 6 hand-built seamless pattern tiles with transparent backgrounds which I used to create these overlays so that you can really customize them.

Color them, distress them, erase parts of them ... add stuff to them, texture them, use them over your own textured papers to match perfectly - the sky is the limit when you have the tiles to build your own patterns!

It's the way I wish all printed papers came, so I'm trying to do my best at doing what I preach!

Take advantage of my DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT Offer - PM or email me when you use one of my CU items in your products for sale. Then I'll feature it on my blog and add it to the most recent previews right in the shop for this set.

Here's some quick papers I made from these same prints:

NEW! Flowering Print Papers

I've just finished up a set of commercial-use flowering prints in a 6-pack at NutHouse-scraps.com! I loved making these prints, and can't wait to see what people make from them!

There are 5 full size digital scrapbooking papers - and I've included the path for the floral print on four of them for you. The sixth member of this set is a Petite Fleur full color rose overlay with transparency so that you can do anything you want with it!

I made a couple samples up using them, just to show them off a bit in glorious color:

They'll be on sale for 35% off until Monday, June 28th at midnight at the above links - click on the images.

More ColourWashed Sets for Designers

I've taken my ColourWashed series a step further with new sets of scenery under-paintings. These are soft suggestions of colors that are ready to take to the next step by Scrapbook Designers. Add textures, edges, details, or designs to these wispy fantasy paper starters for show-stopping results in your next project.

Artists use under-painting techniques as some of the base layers of paintings - they add depth, allow for flow between elements, and provide a wash of color as a base. I think you'll have a great deal of fun with these!

There's 2 different versions, because my designing friends said sometimes they would use the plain, smooth, untextured version and sometimes the one with brush stroke textures. I couldn't find a consensus at all!

Here's a sample one to download for free at NutHouse-Scraps.com:

Sample ColourWashed - A New Series

New Paper Starters

After a number of designers asked (many) times about my multi-colored papers and backgrounds, I am releasing three sets of these high-drama paper-starters for sale at NutHouse-Scraps.com.

Softly blending colors smoothly transition across a page - reminding me of how watercolors wash a paper, but these designer resources are all digital. (Now you know how they got their name!) These beauties are 300dpi, 12x12 jpg images in full color. There's a regular set, a bright set, and a pastel set.

A full commercial-use license comes with each set, even the full-size free sample below.

What can you do with them?

What can't you do! I've used this technique in some of my best selling kits - people love the color variation and blending! The papers come texture free so that you can add exactly the right texture you need to complement or match your own designs.

You can also put a pattern over them, use them to fill a pattern, or to colorize an element. If you're disappointed they're not available in greyscale - then gosh, turn them greyscale and fiddle with them - your creativity is the only limit!

They're available for $3.99 for a set of 4 - or all three sets in a discount bundle.

Click the thumbnail below for the free download page and play with this wonderfully purpled ColourWash page. Professional use is allowed for this free sample, too.

I'd love to see what you use them for! They can go from elegant to fantasy, from contemporary to heritage. It's all your wrist!

Design Professionals: take advantage of my Designer Spotlight - PM or email me when you use one of my CU items in your products for sale. Then I'll feature it on my blog and add it to the most recent previews right in the shop for this set.

I'd love to see your results - and be sure to take advantage of my DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT Offer - PM or email me when you use one of my CU items in your products for sale. Then I'll feature it on my blog and add it to the most recent previews right in the shop for this set.

Birdbath, Sundial - Commercial Use Templates

Here's a couple new, fun, professional designer resource templates - you get three items in one product! A Birdbath, a sundial, and a pedestal (without the sundial). Digital scrapbook designers can use these in the design of their own kits which they make for sale.

They'll be on sale until Monday at midnight for 35% off.

I especially like how the sundial came out. I hope you'll find lots of uses for them for all your garden accents and landscaping needs for contemporary and fantasy scrapping!

Now at my shop at NutHouse-scraps.com. Credit not required, but always appreciated. Beam me a message when you use this in a product, and I'll spotlight you and your new creation.

All the Days of Christmas

Before American commercialization got their hands on the Twelve Days of Christmas, it was a 12-day countdown from Christmas Day to Epiphany, or Three Kings Day. So the first day of Christmas, most remarkably, is Christmas Day!

At NutHouse-Scraps, we're going to honor those roots and have a huge 12 day sale with something different on sale each day - and something new each day for free, too.

I made a digital stamp for your Christmas pages for each of the days of Christmas - there will be one you can get for free each day! You can collect them all for free, as pictured above.

All The Days of Christmas stamps will mix and match with the Christmas Past Mega Collection and Christmas Past Glitter Me This digi-glitter.

The first free stamp will be Dec 25th! Don't miss it! Look for the same image of the 12 Days of Christmas in the shop at NutHouse-Scraps.com, which is pictured above, and click on it for your daily free stamp from the 12 Days of Christmas collection!

Did I already mention ... there might be a nice coupon in the stamps? Thanks to our shop owner for that!

Page from Christmas Past

I want to share with you a terrific Christmas Traditions page which Renee Schlough made with my Christmas Past kit.

Look how she layered the pages on top of each other, and used the extra 'detail' shots from the 'during construction' steps to support the finished gingerbread house and proud smile photo. The photos of hands at work in those small details shots are part of the charm of this simple, endearing, and wonderful page of Christmas Traditions.

Thanks, Renee!

Christmas Past

I've been so busy with Christmas and a new project for a give-a-way (it starts tomorrow, come back then!) that I forgot to post about my Christmas Past Kit.

I had so much fun making this kit - from the glorious damask papers to the glittery candy cane frame, it will make your festive memories from this year or last century a snap for your scrapbook treasure!

Merry Christmas to you and yours! Our Christmas with the family starts with the Christmas Eve program that our grandson is in this evening and goes through Saturday evening where it culminates with a celebration with our extended family.

Wow, check out this lay out!

Look what Heather did with a Halloween candid and my Wild Things kit! I think it is totally brilliant! She's one of my wonderful and talented Creative Team members.

Here's the larger image of the layout in the gallery.

I totally adore how she used the dark round frame in the back as just another layered element, like a collage.

Leave her some love in a comment and tell her what you liked about it.
